  • About the Event:

Jeffrey Toobin, the bestselling author and New Yorker staff writer is joined by prominent criminal lawyer Alan Dershowitz to discuss Toobin’s new book, American Heiress.

Patty Hearst, granddaughter of the publishing magnate William Randolph Hearst, was kidnapped by the Symbionese Liberation Army in 1974 and brainwashed into becoming a bank robber and spokesman for the radical’s group’s causes before serving 22 months behind bars. The sensational story seemed to define the insanity of that decade. Join these two power thinkers for an eye-opening look at an extraordinary piece of American history.
