- HAYDN Symphony No. 1 in D Major

- MOZART Piano Concerto No. 20 in D Minor, K. 466

- ARENSKY Variations on a Theme of Tchaikovsky, Op. 35a

- RACHMANINOFF Suite for Two Pianos No. 2, Op. 17 (arr. Paul Chihara)

Orpheus opens this program with Haydn’s youthful and energetic Symphony No. 1 in D Major. Mozart’s stormy Piano Concerto No. 20 follows, performed by Khatia Buniatishvili in her Orpheus debut. Next is Arensky’s hymn-like and reverent Variations on a Theme of Tchaikovsky, Op. 35a, written in honor of his cherished mentor Tchaikovsky, followed by Rachmaninoff’s powerful and grandiose Suite No. 2 for Two Pianos, Op. 17, in a new arrangement commissioned by Orpheus.
