  • About Anton Chekhov (1860-1904):

One of the world’s best playwrights and writers, Anton Chekhov is as modern today, as he was a century ago. His plays, such as The Cherry Orchard, Uncle Vanya, and The Three Sisters continue to fascinate the public. His brilliant short stories are the reader’s delight, filled with compassion, love, humor, and wisdom. Chekhov was a master of concise composition, famously noting that “Brevity is the sister of talent.”
