$14 for GOLEM GETS MARRIED Show Tickets ($20 Value)

- Thursday, March 23, 2017; 8 PM

- Doors Open 7 PM

- Drom, Manhattan

  • About the Show:
On March 23rd, Golem will put on a “fake wedding” according to an old Catskills tradition, complete with mock bride, groom, ceremony, and of course a truly rocking party, mixing original Golem songs, traditional Jewish repertoire and lots of amazing rock covers: from James Brown to Van Halen. There will even be a real wedding cake!
You will feel like you are at a genuine wedding, only even more fun and without the angst! This show is a unique chance to get to hear Golem’s entire, vast wedding repertoire, not usually performed in concert form. This is a rare glimpse into the wild and emotionally moving world of the Golem wedding.
  • About the Band:
Klezmer-rock band Golem was founded in New York City, and since then the band (Annette Ezekiel Kogan, Aaron Diskin, Jeremy Brown, Curtis Hasselbring, Taylor Bergren-Chrisman and Tim Monaghan) has become a leading re-interpreter and innovator of Yiddish and Eastern European music, creating new songs and pushing tradition forward into new territory.
Golem is known for its theatricality and fearless wild energy, combined with a boundless love of tradition. The band performs nationally and internationally, from the east coast to the west, and from Paris to Mexico City to Stockholm to  Warsaw. After self-released album, “Homesick Songs,” they released two albums, “Fresh Off Boat” and “Citizen Boris” on independent Jewish label, Jdub Records.
