- About the Concert:
New York Baroque Incorporated (NYBI) presents a program of music written by Jewish composers, including the famous, the little known, and the anonymous! Pieces range from folk tunes of the klezmer repertoire played by a lone fiddler, originating from the Ghetto, to magisterial instrumental compositions by Salamone Rossi, the only Jewish composer held in high esteem by the Christian Duke of Mantua. Program concludes with Mendelssohn’s Octet, which will be given a rare period-instrument performance.

- About NYBI:
New York Baroque Incorporated is a conductorless orchestra of young players on period instruments in New York City, bringing vital, informed, and fresh performances of a wide range of 17th and 18th-century repertoire, and creating a vibrant landscape for collaborations between historical performance and living composers. Since its creation, NYBI has received critical praise for its virtuosity, and was lauded by The New York Times for its “do-it-yourself spirit.”
